Envirofinfish.org was implemented due to a lack of available information on the environmental management of aquaculture. 

The site’s objective is to create and operate a global, publicly-accessible forum that enables and promotes the consolidation and dissemination of information about aquaculture environmental management and monitoring topics from a policy and regulation perspective.
